Powers of Integers - Including Rules to shortcut
When we multiply a number by itself several times we can use a shortcut to express its
The number is called the Base
The power is called the Exponent or Index.
The number is called the Base
The power is called the Exponent or Index.
Now here is the bit that you are not going to like but just accept it
Computers will recognise that to express powers it does so this way ( ten upside down v six)
10^6 = 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 1 ooo ooo
10^6 = 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 1 ooo ooo
